Abandoned Cat Finds Love and Warmth at Thermal Therapy Centre

Lucky the abandoned cat that found love at a Nugabest centre in Niarobi

Lucky, an abandoned cat turned therapy cat, now brings warmth and comfort to clients at a thermal massage centre.

By Whisker Wonders Kenya,

On my first visit to a local Nugabest thermal therapy centre in Nairobi, something—or rather, someone else—stole my attention before the heated beds even had a chance.

There he was. Curled up on one of the therapy beds like he owned the place, soaking in the healing power of tormanium stones and simply enjoying himself. A serene tabby-and-white cat—the therapy cat. With soulful eyes and an air of quiet wisdom.

While most people would’ve called him “Puss Puss,” I decided to name him Lucky—because any cat who ends up living at a wellness centre has got to be just that.

Lucky, I later learned, is an abandoned cat—left behind by his previous owner who lived in a nearby apartment. When they moved out, they simply left him to fend for himself. For a while, he wandered the area—alone—until one kind-hearted staff member at the therapy center took him in.

Since then, Lucky has become part of the healing experience. A calm, silent guardian of the massage room—watching over clients as they find peace and restoration.

Lucky the therapy catHe doesn’t make a fuss. He simply lies there, basking in the warmth of the thermal beds. Occasionally, he’ll walk up to a customer, as if to say, “It’s your turn. But don’t forget mine.”

Lucky doesn’t beg. He waits—quietly—for his turn to be petted. And honestly, I think he knows exactly when a customer needs a little extra comfort. His presence alone is soothing. Healing, even.

My friend insists he should be renamed Nuga—because she believes he completes the Nugabest healing experience.

In this current cold weather, Lucky has found the ultimate solution—snuggling into the heated beds like royalty. Smart cat.

It’s clear he’s loved. Kudos to Jane who not only took him in, but continue to feed and care for him every day. Lucky is not just surviving—he’s thriving. A happy cat, in a place of warmth, care, and peace.

While some customers go to the therapy centre for body relief. I go for that—and for Lucky.

🐾 Whisker Wonders Reflection

It’s amazing how animals seem to find healing spaces—and make them even more healing. Lucky reminds us that even those left behind can find a place to belong and to give love back. And sometimes, the biggest hearts are found in the quietest staff members.

Taking in a pet is a lifetime commitment. They trust us completely—and depend on us for everything. Pet abandonment is betrayal. It’s neglect of that sacred bond. But in the right hands, even a once-forgotten animal can still find warmth, purpose, and love.
